With summer now around the corner, it's a great time to be outdoors! And I know with circumstances during this past year affecting everyone, most of us still are spending lots of time at home. So if you're looking for some easy and fun activities outside to do with your kiddos at home or around your neighborhood, this is a great list to get everyone outside and active!
Pack a lunch and a blanket and go on a picnic! This can be either in your backyard or a nearby park.
Go on a bike ride together.
Go on a nature scavenger hunt--even if it's just around your neighborhood! Write down a list of things to look for such as leaves, bugs, flowers, etc. and go hunting!
Sidewalk chalk. Do hop scotch or have each person (including YOU!) draw something that covers an entire square of the sidewalk!
Make paper airplanes and go outside and see how far they can fly!
Fill up a little kiddie pool outside and if your kids like dolls or have some favorite toys (that are waterproof), have them join the pool party! --My kids might be obsessed with doing this with their dollies.
Play some classic games outside such as duck, duck goose, Red Rover, or tag/freeze tag.
Have a front/back yard bubble dance party! Grab some bubbles or a bubble machine, turn on some music, and dance around in the bubbles!
Get some outdoor type toys such as hula hoops, jump ropes, soccer balls, frisbees, etc. and get active outside! You can even create stations and set a timer. Adding some music always makes it more enjoyable too! ;)
Plant some flowers or create a small garden together.
Enjoy the weather with your little ones and let us know if you try any of these activities together!
