Play dough is a fan favorite in our house! We break it out often and my girls love making pizzas, shapes, characters, and come up with all kinds of shenanigans with it.
Since we love it so much (what child doesn't?!), I figured it would be super fun and motivating to work on our letter recognition using play dough!
And it was a HIT! So we wanted to share that with you today PLUS... *drumroll* a free printout of the alphabet cards, which includes all of the capital and lowercase letters of the alphabet! We hope you love this activity as much as we did! Enjoy!
Materials needed:
-Play dough
-Alphabet cards (free download found below!)
Print out letter cards (pdf document found below). Cut out each set of letters.
Optional: It might be helpful to laminate the cards so that the play dough doesn't stick and they can be reused again and again!
Have your child get out the play dough of their choosing.
Then have your child roll the play dough into long "snakelike" pieces.
Now place the play dough strips onto a letter card and have your child mold and shape them into the correct letter.
Repeat with each letter!
It might be helping to discuss each letter as your child shapes the play dough. Have them say the letter, make its correct sound, etc.
