Clothespin Name Practice:

Updated: Jul 21, 2021

I got this idea from my son’s preschool teacher. The best part? Only a one minute set up! It’s a really easy way to help your child practice spelling their name, work on their letter recognition and work on those fine motor skills!

What you’ll need:

-Any kind of thicker paper

- Clothespins

- A marker

1: Cut your paper to desired length to fit your child’s name.

2: Count how many letters are in their name, and then mark that many sections off on the paper and get that many clothespins.

3: Write one letter of their name in each section.

4: Write one letter of their name on each clothes pin.

5: Have your child match up the clothespins with the correct letters on the paper!

Activity notes:

-Once you’re child is done, put everything in a plastic baggy and save for another time. I made this one for my son to do on the airplane and it was so easy to pull out and use again!

-you could let your child color or paint the clothespins and paper to stretch the activity out a little more.
