The more familiar you can get your child with the sounds that letters make, the easier it will be for them to read! Give your kid a head start with the simple, fun and effective matching game!

What you’ll need:

-picture flashcards

-magnet letters

1: Set up a row of your picture flashcards.

2: Dump out the magnet letters.

3: Help your child sound out the words on the pictures and find the matching sound to go with it.

4: Once they complete their row, switch them out for new cards and repeat!

Activity Notes:

-if you don’t have picture flashcards, draw some quick things and cut them out or print some out! (I found mine at Walmart for under $3)

-don’t have any magnet letters? No problem! Again, just write them on sticky notes or print some out! (I also found my magnet letters at Walmart)

-If your kiddo is having a hard time with remembering a sound a specific letter makes, keep adding that letter into the following card lines ups for more practice!
