Back in college, I learned that kids who are more exposed to letters learn to read easier. Even if your child doesn't know their letters yet, it's so good for them to just see them and be around them! This activity is an extremely simple way for them to play and learn at the same time.
What you'll need:
-playdoh
-letter cookie cutters
1: Get out the playdoh!
2: Pull out the cookie cutters.
3: Let your child cut out different letter shapes while they are playing with their playdoh!
Activity Notes:
-try saying things like, "can you find me the letter "k"? Let's cut it out!"
-you can cut out letters to form sight words, their name, etc.
-have your child put the letters in order with the alphabet song!
-if your child is just learning, just pick a few to have them play with and practice. If they are more advanced, do a little lesson on something like vowels!
