Sight Word Matching Game:

Sight words are such an important part of kids reading independently. Helping them learn these commonly used, short words will improve their reading, help them to be less frustrated, and increase the likelihood of them having a great experience in school!



What You'll Need:

-Paper

-Scissors

-Pen or Marker

-Tape

-Sticky Notes


1: Cut your paper into strips or squares.

2: On each paper, write a sight word, or a word that your child needs to practice.

3: Tape them up somewhere in the house.

4: Write the SAME words on the sticky notes.


5: Have your child match the sticky notes with the correct word!



*Activity Notes:


-After doing this activity once or twice, try hiding the sticky notes around the house and then having your kids find them and put them in the right place. Then, have them hide them and help you find them and put them in the right place!
