St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner! And if you have little ones at home, they'll love celebrating with these stimulating and festive activities!
Leprechaun Tic-tac-toe
Just like the classic game except playing with gold coins and rainbows as our X's and O's! ;) Simply print out the sheet game sheet (below) and cut out the markers to get playing!
It was a little tricky for my 4-year-old, so I helped guide her, but my Kindergartener caught right on! They enjoyed a few rounds and also loved trading who got to play the rainbows and who got to be the coins.

Gold Coin Number Match
Here's a simple math/counting activity. For this one you'll just need to print out the document (below) and cut out the coins to use for counting.
To play, have your child say the number out loud (on the left cloud) and then have them place the correct amount of gold coins on the right side of the rainbow--Like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
The document includes numbers 1-10.
Pipe Cleaner Shamrocks
This activity is great for fine motor skills and even patterns!
Materials needed:
-Green pipe cleaners
-Green (or similar colored) beads
-Shamrock pipe cleaner pattern (download below)
First, have your child string the beads onto the pipe cleaner. They can also create a small bend on one end to ensure the beads don't fall off while they thread them.
2. After your child has finished threading the beads, help them connect the ends of the pipe cleaner so that it looks like a circle or bracelet. *Note: For ours, we connected one end of the pipe cleaner a bit higher up on the other end creating a short stem at the bottom.
3. Next, have the child bend and mold the pipe cleaner into a clover shape using the pattern as a guide (available to print below).
Rainbow Popsicle Stick Craft
I was so bummed because I took pictures of my daughters putting these cute crafts together, but I accidentally deleted them! Oh well, here is a picture of the final product + the instructions below! This colorful activity was super easy and turned out so darling.
Materials needed:
-6 colored popsicle sticks (red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple)
-White felt cut into 3 small cloud shapes
-Tape
-Elmer's glue
Have children line up the popsicle sticks in order from left to right. *Note: I laid down a "cheat sheet" for my kids using colored pencils and displaying the letters R O Y G B I V --each written in the color they represent. Of course, purple stick included both the I "indigo" and V "violet".
Ensure the sticks are evenly lined up side by side (with no space between them) and then place a strip of tape perpendicular to them. Continue taping until you've covered the length of all the sticks. You'll only need to do this on one side.
Flip the rainbow around and apply the Elmer's glue at the top. Have your child stick the clouds on the glue spots. *Note: we did our clouds one at a time and had them overlapping.
